I've seen a few people mention having some blogs that are strictly RSS feed content that virtually run themselves from that standpoint. I'm wondering if anybody is willing to talk about level of success with something like this.

With enough feeds, it could have regular postings getting up, but those same posts would end up on more than a few other blogs - especially if it's popular programs.

This way of doing things doesn't make a lot of sense to me, but seems more than a few people are giving it a go.

my concern with running with a feed only blog would be the thousands of other lazy webmasters that just spam the system by throwing up loads of blogs - after all we know if theres a cheat / fast track system the spammers will abuse it, so the SE's will look for this and long term filter them

How every feeds within a true site is another thing and I know Ian uses those

I have one like that -- it takes feeds from multiple cam programs, does a little synonym editing on the posts but that's it. It updated daily for several years but the updater script crashed a year or more ago and I never fixed it.

It does get some SE traffic.

that was the impression I had about the concept in general. I just can't see putting effort into getting the site together when the conversions could be next to zero. Maybe it's a case of how many conversions are worth it if you truly don't put effort into the site after it launches?

I like rss feed blogs Only I pull the posts in via draft then go in and doctor them some and reset the time to post them it sure saves a bunch of time grabbing a image and writing it all out

so you end up making them at least a little "unique" content wise.

I've been doing that with feeds in general, editing them a little and changing the publish date for my own purposes. Doing a blog with only feeds like that, are you having success with conversions?

I no longer dabble with splogs, but I found they can work if A) you have lots of them and B) you try to do some morphing of the text. Otherwise you'll either get ignored by the search engines (and therefore must rely on other traffic gen) or penalized for duped content.

There are a coupla ready-made morphing tools, or as you know one or two things about this PHP contraption you could probably write your own. I relied on morphing from the sponsor which ended up being pretty poor. I'd recommend going the nine yards and getting a script. G has many of them, this one popped to the top (looks like a service and not a script):

If your going to feed your site with some type of automated system on a Feed only basis, there are plenty of ways to do it successfully. Being a programmer and having run a number of these campaigns myself, the key is to make your automation look human in nature, and append text to the rss extracted pics/vids etc. This way you stay away from the evil duplicate content filter. The reason why i say you want to make yourself look human, is because if you post too frequently of a time stamp, and ping your blog after, in a repeated matter, then you are obviously doing what thousands have tried before. What is best is to use a random interval between two time periods like a random time between 10-15 mins. Then leave this running for months. You obviously need some amount of coding skill to pull this off. Porn is however one of the easiest things to do this with. Lets face it guys just want to see the pics right?
