Yep 2.9 the better and more improved wordpress than 2.8.6 or whatever.

I believe in updating, especially if there are security issues, but I also believe in testing too, and you know, the release candidate hasn't been out for long, nor the beta versions.

Given all the security issues that developed for 2.8 I am not going to rush out and upgrade today, or even tomorrow. After all 2.8.1 came out a few days or so after the 'safe' version.

I truly enjoy Wordpress, has more or less made my life a bit easier, not much, but a bit and yet lately I am wondering, if they aren't rushing out the final product, so WE BECOME THE TESTORS, rather than providing a more stable release later on.

I've just started a new blog today with 2.9 so it will be interesting to see the outcome

BUT

whats wrong with frigging Delete!!! I like Delete delete means exactly that, now you may be scatching your bald spot ( yes Ian talking to you ) and be wondering has Tigs been on the red already? well no but WP have nuked the word delete and replaced it with

hopefully this update has done more than just replace the word Delete with Trash

It's added an 'out to get more red' for when the site gets hacked, or goes down for future upgrades

And now begins the plugin upgrade mantra too.

Akismet, Google site map generator, wp stats, and that's only for the moment...

But not to worry, Wordpress Version 2.10 will have a New default theme.

I'm sure there's more to it than that, they likely also replaced 'and' with '&' to save a few bytes

Not only that, but that doesn't actually delete the post. You have to actually go into the posts section, and then EMPTY TRASH.

unfortunately it's likely a reflection on how popular it's getting and all the newbies using it... they need to be able to say, OOPS! My Bad... and still get something back

..thanks for hipping me, I've upped to 2.9 and I'm loving it, I feel invigorated and alive...

make sure you watch out when adding images, it seems to hold the link from the previous image and copy it over so you have to delete then add the new link ............makes you wonder what bleeding geek thought of that
