I know, we kid Tigs a lot, but there is a bug in Wordpress 2.9 that supposedly Wordpress 2.9.1 will address and fix.

SO IF YOU SCHEDULE POSTS AHEAD TAKE NOTE.

For many, when you schedule a post, it seems to miss it, and shows in your admin section, as just that. It shows "Missed Schedule" but it also shows the post status as PUBLISHED.

IT HAS NOT PUBLISHED.

So, don't rely on that, check your blog to make sure that it did indeed publish. IF NOT, the fix is quite simple, until the stable release of WP 2.9.1 is available.

Using the Quick Edit feature, under the missed post, click it, and check the post status. It will show 'Scheduled' which you need to change to 'Publish' and then click the 'Update Post' and then your post will be published, for real.

With all these new wordpress exploit variants, it seems that its not getting better. I have put a lot of my posting effort into adult oriented blogspots. Now if you mark them as adult it isn't against there terms of service. This way Google secures all blogs in real time. They also don't cost a dime. (Initially that is) I have wordpress blog setups my self on my server, however, with the high PR juice, they are all targeted for black hat cloaked linking attacks. No one is safe with wordpress. Just when you think you are, some asshole comes up with a new trick.
