Has anyone used Artisteer for creating your own templates/themes for WP?

I just downloaded the trial version and I must admit that it does seem quite nifty!

I know there are a thousand and one websites out there with free WP themes but I always end up tweaking them as they are never quite right, so I think this might be an easy way of generating unique looking blogs.

Comments??

I've seen it and thought it was nice, but ultimately didn't go with it as I'm trying to not to depend so much on WordPress. Instead I'm using PHP and static pages and just adding to Web pages already on the site. (The PHP is for dynamically changing headers, sidebars, navigation, and footers). Turns out I can do it in at least the same time as writing a blog post, and I have more creative control.

Security and all the far-too-frequent updates to WP has become a concern.

agree that backups, updates & security is taking the shine off WP, but from what I've seen so far it looks like a nice little tool and for $100 not a bad price

Well you know it also exports to static HTML, so you can use it for that, too. Handy if you want to create a mostly static site, but have a blog go with it. The blog and main site look the same (except the main site won't have search or RSS or other blog-only features).

These days I'm sticking to just a small handful of templates I've hand-tweaked. I change the color scheme and graphics to keep things fresh. I try to do no more than one each in every main niche so that in case a surfer goes from site to site in my little ol' network.

I bought the home version
What it does you can find for free online BUT the time it saved me doing 30 different designs was worth the 50 bucks I think anyways cause you think about it 4 mins per site to find different free designs was spent making the design , it was a easy learning curve .... a few things took a bit to find what they were listed under lol

But later i can open a free wp design thingy :P

If your in to the other Joomla etc ... then i would say go standard version but for wp only the home version is all you need

The custom value dialog boxes appear to be handy if you don't want to mess with the CSS directly. This feature is only in the pro package.
