I've got an old blog thats getting some attention from the SE and as I've not updated it for about 12 mths logged in today and found just a few spammy comments that I now need to delete

Right now I'm nuking them at 20 a time by ticking the "all" box at the top of the admin panel - Is there any way to mass delete all spam? maybe some geeky plug in ( I hope)

Anyone got any ideas other than UPDATE - yes I know Ian

Depends on your version, but if you go to the main admin, there should be aomething that says SPAM, click it, it should list all spam files, then there should be a box above the list, says bulk actions, if you click it, a download menu appears, click delete then to the right is a 'bulk action' which yhou click.

all wil be deleted that are shown.

if I click on the spam link from the admin section it displays only 20 postings at a time, is there no way to change this? so to nuke all at once

If it is in the spam folder, then it will automatically delete them after X number of days. Not sure what that is, 7 or 30. They are usually put there, for you to review and approve any legit comments, that might be tagged as spam.

isn't the auto delete only there if you've got askimit (sp?) actively installed?

It is actually comments that want deleting, some have gone in as spam but there could do with being a delete all comments box!

got it sorted in the end managed to change the display to show a 100 postings at a time

postings turned OFF now
