Opened a new blog yeserday, noticed WP has a new seo plugin "Last Wordpress Seo Plugin", wondering if anyone has tried it and also find out if there's any other new nifty plugin's folks are using or could recommend.

Nope haven't tried it yet, use Platinum SEO but have found a couple of other interesting ones, like ar rotator (keeps flipping on his backside) and then there is the manage templates that I find quite good, for keeping a good set format in the posts.

I'm with Ian I use Platinum SEO and it works fine for me

I tried...

• All In One SEO: That's the one I got stuck with - seems to be the best supported one
• Platinum SEO: When I tried it, it just seemed to be a All In One SEO Ripoff with no additional features. Seems to have changed now - at least a little bit.
• Headspace: The best one featurewise, but it slowed down the blog A LOT so got rid of it.

True, but to be honest I'm not at all certain how much they help anyhow, I think your tags and well thought out post carry more weight than that extra "excerpt" sections. How can you prove the plug-ins are actually pulling rank?

its all about the title! - the SEO plug in will allow more control and a good title goes a long way in SEO, least it does right now

I have to agree with Tigger. It's all about the title and, I find, a URL with keywords in it helps ALOT. I also find naming conventions in images can be key as well. Google Images can send the new blog a bunch of traffic.

I stick with All in One SEO. I find it gives me control over the title and let's me keyword individual pages. Which I like.

I find it's hard to be as diligent as I should about SEO. Much of what I do is focus on keywords in the article and then run an individual Title on the page.

Most else is architecture. Have a clean site with text nav that's easy for people and search engines to move around it. Make sure images and pages are named well. And always use a sitemap plugin (I use Simple Sitemap).

I also find Webmaster Tools in Google is GREAT. By running my sitemap though there a few times as I'm posting new content, eventually Google will start indexing my posts literally in seconds, it doesn't rocket things to the top of rankings, but makes the Google spidering turn around lightening fast.

Always love hearing about new plugins and ways to get more traffic.

it does right now, but I can see G tweaking this as right now keyword loaded URLS are ranking with zero effort and I can't see this lasting. Get ready for an update in Jan that will change all this

There's a new player in town: Yoast WordPress SEO

Worth a look - or two.

I think I'll use that one in the future.
