I am still thinking whats best to do with my forum. I love posting on it and trying to make it big but I also need to get members for my paysite. So I have a lot of thinking to do.

that can be a challenge for anybody running a site - you love to do certain things, but do those things lead to making money? Sometimes we have to make a choice between some of the things we love to do and what is going to make a site more profitable.

That may be an initial choice to focus on. Once the members side of the forum gets going and busy enough, I bet you find that you'll be able to make all the types of posts you enjoy in the members section. Maybe try to stay focused on that while having to cut back in the public area.

Yes I will make more in the members section and also stop easy access to the private section so there will be a lot less there for people who are not members

You could always go with sub domains for separate blogs. Google views each one individually for traffic and ranking etc. The only downside I have found is that links are viewed as being from the primary domain.

So if I link to mainstite.com on site1.maindomain.com, site2.maindomain.com and so on, Google sees all those links to mainsite.com as coming from mainsite.com and not the subs.

It is useful if you're primarily going for increased traffic and spreading the risk. I have seen all blogs over one domain do different things based on theme, content, niche... good for experimenting.

It's also about personal preference and not doing more than you can keep up with as well. I agree with Tigger about not putting all of your eggs in one basket but all the eggs don't have to adult related either.

I run three other non-adult related businesses and a hobby blog. I used to do more but doing so became more than I could be successful at. Some people especially back when doing adult sites was very easy and profitable had many sites (100s) that were driving affiliate sales, etc. This could get lengthy but basically there are many flavors of the adult internet entrepreneur. You can mix and match or stick to what you know but the most important thing I learned is to be unique and flexible if nothing else.

The thought of running dozens or more blogs or sites was always a put off to me. I used to have tons of domains, what a nightmare. hahahahaha But it certainly does work for many people to keep up with that many sites. I just wanted to put in my 2cents.

I also have to say it wasn't until I started doing what I LOVED to do (for my adult and non-adult businesses) did I actually start to make money. So a good question to ask yourself is "How do I make money from what I love to do?" otherwise, it's also ok to sell out and make some frivolous loot too. hahahahahaha I do both. ... but I wouldn't accept only making money on things I really didn't love doing.
