Who can recommend a good legal tube script that would be good for WP platform?

Are you looking for a tube theme for WP, or a tube script? I wouldn't run a tube script on top of WP.

The ones Tiggs has recommended are good. Also check out those offered by Press75.com, such as OnDemand. They're not free ($75 a pop, but it's an unlimited use license), but they're feature rich, and the developer is very good at supporting them.

I seem to recall GSM first suggested them to me.

I saw a blog the other day that was a basic WP theme, but was a tube site. I'm not certain how that works and like you said, it didn't impress me as a good idea to use a tube script on WP, however his site was functioning pretty good.

The reason you wouldn't want to run a real tube over WP is security, as tube scripts are inherently among the least secure script you can run. The combination of tube script + WP is an invitation to get hacked.

Some of these tube themes can be hard to manage with lots of extra thirs-party plugins (like user voting and view counts) that you have to keep updated. Any plugin that writes to the database is more likely to be hackable, so security is a main concern.

In the end, a tube theme is just a creative way of inserting the_excerpt instead of the_content, or in my home-brew theme, I've added a new field for both excerpt and thumbnail. I don't use the ratings feature (on one site I fake it; these are porn videos after all!), or any other plugins that require writing back to the database. This greatly simplifies maintenance of the site.

Actually the press75 themes aren't bad, may serve as a good platform to showcase my paysite video's, don't think it would be good for tube site purposes.

I don't know about the moogaloop player, anyone have experience with that?

I use the On Demand theme, on my gaytube site. Well its not a tube, just videos with some added stuff, but I thought press75 is out of business now. The guy moved to some other company, and not even sure if he's upgraded the theme or not. It does the trick for me, makes me the sales, so I ain't gonna mess with what's working I do use a couple of other themes of his, that aren't bad, but the On Demand one is the best for displaying videos. imho.

That's cool, much like the freewptube, not real tube but tubish. I looked at the other site that inspired me and it's a safe bet they're using the same theme.

PS: How does the fleshlight sell for you, I've been meaning to promote that for the longest time...

isn't that the case for anything your trying to promote? - Banners will support the theme of a page and maybe get the clicks where guys just glance over a page - but its content within the page thats the real puller
