Just curious if anyone is using wordpress taxonomy? If so is it useful and how do you make it thus? What is it's advantage over just using tags and categories?

Thanks

It's in addition to tags and categories. Took be a while to figure out how to hack the coding properly (i think it mostly has to be manually done - could be a few plug ins maybe) and only doing it right now on test dummy sites, but wondering if anyone is using it in any special way. I could see it as great for something like biology with it's geneology, but curious if anyone in adult is using it.

I'm not one who is overly concerned with duplicate content. I believe it's mostly a myth and the fact that the adult industy exists (dupe tgp's, galleries etc. just as few examples) is proof of that in itself. Plus I've never had any problem with it and definitely should have been one who did.

I didn't even get a bad hit from Panda, just from the industry itself and I'm trying to find a way to make sites more appealing and wondering if this could help in anyway.

It's at least useful for extra doorways I'm assuming

I'm not talking about from other sites - but by creating more cats/ taxonomy / tags your then going to have the same snippets used more often and so the duplicate content problem

If your looking for another way to get extra content / pages into a blog why not add another category and then post within that - thats all I've been doing and it works fine

Well that might be what this is so that is why I'm asking about it.

HERE'S THE DUMMY BLOG EXAMPLE!

See where it says Operating System Mac OS? if you click that link you'll see the url you get. And again, I can see what it is useful for (sub-sub-categorization, family tree, hieracrchy, etc.) but wondering if anyone has been using it yet in adult and getting any benefit from it.

Not sure If I'm being clear or understanding you clearly though...

P.S. Actually THIS MIGHT BE A BETTER LINK about the whole thing I'm asking. Or even THIS ONE OUTSIDE OF WORDPRESS even.

I actually stumbled across this accidentally while looking at hacks for and proper usage of WP's new default theme.

LOL - P.S.S. it's in the top post right now just above tags and other meta data. It's a lot of work to get that link so that's also why I'm asking of course. Is it worth the work?

from what I've seen ......nope

I don't see how doing this is any better than just creating categories and then posting within that cat - its what I do and I'm not having any problems - for example I use cats for profiles Bukkake Contacts VOD Streaming Porn UK | bukkake-247.co.uk and looking at just one Bromley Bukkake Kent Fetish Contacts | bukkake-247.co.uk if you search for the target keyword " bromley bukkake" that term is number one on G

Okay well, lets just go back to tags then.

Why use tags and categories, instead of just one or the other? I need to get to the bottom of this LOL

frig knows

I'm still playing catch up - but looking at it its really about the end user - most themes will display categories within the main navigation, so making it easy for the punter to navigate - tags tend to be a collection of postings so not so easy

but you do have to keep an eye on the duplicate problems that tags can create, so need to use these wisely, say that the blog I posted if you search for that term you'll see the site ranks 1-4 with G wanky way of displaying up to 4 pages per site now

Well, this sort of opens up a whole new SEO conversation.

For instance. Is it better to have more doorways into your page at the risk of duplicate content? That's the idea of course to galleries and especially free sites.

Again not sure duplicate content has ever hurt me, or if I even actually have it.

I do notice that ALL IN ONE SEO plug in has it so that you can protect yourself from duplicate content so that would make me think it is something to be concerned with so I suppose if you did this (TAXONOMY THING) you should be concerned with robots txt to manually protect yourself.

But if we go back to SEO and SEARCH ENGINES I'm almost thinking the numbers game (more urls) is more important since actual ranking hardly matters any longer as far as google is concerned because they are delievering pages to individuals on the basis of what they determine you are most likely to want in their belief so thus the more you have should work out better.

Right or Wrong or

what is a doorway - a page / posting thats built to rank for a chosen keyword term ( lets forget single words) so if you can come up with enough "unique" content as in not duplicated throughout the blog then you can produce as many doorways as you want - but going down this road will also leave you open to get deep links into these postings otherwise due to weak link pop or worse thin content they will get filtered away - the days when we could make fat-big-tits.html / skinny-big-tits.html / black-big-tits.html days are long gone - they are too similar

more can be good, but you need to consider where all the links are going to come from as now its not volume but quality that counts.

I'm still adding smaller / niche blogs but rather than working on the idea of these ranking I'm using them to feed quality links back to a handful of sites - for example I added a page ( static site) on an established site then set up a new blog so that I could feed a index trade back to the site - the result is that page is 5th for a competitive term, the blog thats feeding the link has dropped right down the serps due to the holiday period filter, it may return but its done its job by boosting the link pop to the other website and helped push a single page past many sites that are trying to rank for that ................I need a drink

Cheers lad, you've worked hard today. I've always been curious though, where do you rank for the search term "red"?
