Wtf's with the spam on wordpress? Two blogs I am letting WP host currently have a TON of the medical bullshit spam coming through like every day. Makes me wonder about my traffic, which over the previous weekend dropped off quite a bit due to I think a glitch in WP.

Yeah, I have akismet running on both blogs but damn. Also more spam is getting through email filters in Gmail. Answers? Anyone? *taps mic* Is this thing on?

Try Antispam Bee as antispam plugin for a change. Works great for me.

Plus: Sign up to Project Honeypot to get access to their IP blacklist / to get an API key from them. You can use that one in Antispam Bee.


I use that combination in about 50 blogs and all I have to bother about is an occasional manual SPAM comment every few weeks.
