There is a certain other adult webmaster board, known by its three initials, that I use to keep up with news. As of two days ago, the main forum there is no longer listed, and links to posts to this main forum require a log in. I have a log in (limited account rights, apparently), but it does no good.

I never participate in this other board, and just lurk as a reader, but it seems either shut off completely or guest access appears removed. Without naming the board (no reason to drive traffic to it) do others here have the same problem? Anyone know what's up?

It's around but they locked it down for non members. If you are logged in and a member u should be able to see it.

However, I personally find that place difficult to conduct any real business in. I like this smaller feel

Thanks for the clarification. Though I have a working username/pass, for some reason it's never allowed me to do anything.

I never post, nor have a reason or desire to, but only lurk to keep on top of adult biz news.

I did manage to sign in with my old username and password VG.I did notice I was the only member logged in along with 5 guests.

Looks like the skin has been changed since my last visist so maybe thats caused a bit of an issue.

When myself, Tigs and S4E got together with the concept of starting AF247 our main objectives were to make the place friendly, inviting and above all usefull.

Thanks for the comments, its good to know we are heading in the righ direction.

I can't seem to find a working login for that place, but from the looks of it, somebody may have fucked themselves! I crack myself up sometimes...

thanks for the positive comments - we may never be the biggest or busiest board around, but we'll always shoot for solid information, a friendly atmosphere and a big dose of fun!

I really don't see the point of locking a whole forum down so non members can't see whats going in, perhaps if you had the member base one section where only paid members can gain access but even then I wouldn't be in favor of that - I just think its silly to effectively close the door to browsers after all those are the new members of tomorrow

not to mention, it's the lurkers and readers that out number the posting members on every board I know. They are also the ones that click ads, follow along and show up in the strangest places.

My account works, but then I have posted occasionally. I only go there very rarely. Keeping up with industry news I do via boardtracker alerts on my niche and main sponsors.

I emailed Eric the admin and he approved my account. I don't know why it wasn't approved before, but it's also possible it was okay at first, but then restricted because I never posted anything. Guess I'll have to post the odd "2-cents-worth" meaningless reply that so many of the regulars do.

I'd use something like boardtracker but I never know what it is I'm looking for until I find it. I usually just scan the first page for any interesting news, and also hit up AVN and XBiz for their headlines. Then I call it a day.
