AEBN has added a new enhancement to our affiliate program: campaigns.

Affiliates can now create campaigns and associate them to a particular theater or sales tool to gauge its effectiveness. Campaigns allow webmasters to track traffic and conversions to better understand where sales are generated from their sites.

The campaigns feature is currently available to use with your custom theaters as well as all of our sales tools. You can create an unlimited number of campaigns to fulfill all of your tracking needs.

Have not looked at how AEBN is doing this, but in general, it works like this: You add a name for your campaign and then create links with the campaign name in them. Then, in the stats, you'll see those hits from that campaign.

It's similar to referral tracking, sometimes better, and sometimes not as good. With referral tracking you just get the page the hit came from. But with campaign tracking, you can group pages/sites in the way you want, as they're treated as a single unit.

For a small blog, you could create a campaign for the whole blog. But if your blog is big, you might want to know which pages are generating the hits, so you'll need to create a campaign for each one of them.

Looks like it, though why they could never get referral tracking to work is a mystery. That's pretty basic stuff.

Assuming their campaign tracking actually works - with AEBN you can never assume anything! - I plan on adding at least genre-tracking. I might also do some page-specific campaigns for the more critical pages on my sites.
