Alright so I have dabbled with the online caming and meet with models at local malls/coffee shops, had them sign all the papers..then uploaded all paper to a company in Cali who got this model online and gave me a cut of her profits.I got the models by posting ads on craigslist which worked great.

Now as far as getting models to dance for the camera with me video taping, I have never done. How should I go about doing all this.I was thinking to get the models by posting more CL ads geared toward my business.

What to do with my first session? Should I bring a laptop and some speakers, and a portable X pole for her to dance on if she wanted..is brining a tripod a good idea? or just hold cam? What about lighting should I invest a bit in some lights?

If any of you have experience in this, I would love to hear your methods from the ad placement to the model payment.

Thanks

I've only used CL, and then relied also on referrals from models. I pay a $50 to $75 referral fee, which is more than an agent would get for booking her.

CL is getting harder to find models at because of the spam and the overall issues of safety, but it's free.

"Bring a laptop and some speakers" to where? Her place? Most models won't be thrilled at that idea, and besides, many live with room mates or whatever that don't know they model.

I would have suggested finding a motel you could shoot at, but if you've got the music turned up you'll be thrown out in no time.

I think you'll need to get a studio, or find some place where they will allow you shoot explicit content and set up the pole or whatever other props you need. If you're in the LA area there are some adult studios you can rent by the hour. Or find a way to shoot at where you live.

As for fee, just look to see what other CL ads are, and understand many of them are come-ons and payment isn't anywhere near that. In any case, I think you should expect to pay in the neighborhood of around $100 hour for exotic/explicit dancing.

I'll also add use at least two cameras, and maybe three. Suppose you have three cameras. Put two on tripods, from different angles, and hand-hold the other. The hand-held cam should be the best of the three. The other two can be standard DV camcorders that you can buy for $300 or so.

Or, find a good solid state camera and get a large enough memory card to hold a couple of hours. With good lighting these look very good, and there are HD models that cost under $200-250.

The idea of having multiple cameras is that you get coverage in case there's a technical problem with your main cam, and if the angles are different enough, you can re-use the same sessions for muiltiple updates for your site.

VGs got you covered

only thing I have to add, since hiring models is not something I do... used to have a guy around that getting new models was a big part of his job. He worked for a large content provider. This wouldn't work for everybody, but if you've got the personality for it - if he saw somebody that he thought had the right look, he would simply approach them and ask if they had ever done any modeling. If they were interested, he gave them a business card and got their phone number or email address. Then he had them fill out a questionnaire about what types of modeling they may be interested in. He never needed to directly ask them if they would get naked, since that put many off, BUT - enough checked off the nude modeling box on the forms that he kept getting new content.

He said it helped to approach it as professionally as possible - and he could do that well. For that though, I'd think you'd really need a studio of some level to bring them to.

what about trying some of the clubs VG? after all they will have the polls & music in place and as a sweetner to the club you could add on the site photos taken at XYZ club ? - the only possible issue would be lighting as I presume these places are dark - just a thought

I'd generally stay away from clubs, and the strippers that work there. Much less hassle (and cost) getting photographic models and paying a $100-200 studio fee.

The mindset is the problem. Generally you don't want anything to do with these people.

But more so, strip clubs tend to be licensed as a very particular type of businesses. They're watched closely by the police. You never know when there's some whacko city ordinance that forbids commercial filming inside the strip club. A number have something like this, to prevent live cams in strip clubs and swinger hideaways.

Let me add. I came across models on clips4sale(.)com and contacted them by email....so it looks like the video taping, etc will be done by model and simply uploaded to me. If I am not mistaken cant I simply do this:

1. Send over a 2257 form
2. When 2257 received, advise model to upload necessary videos to my website.
3. The TOS on my website where the model will submit the content will clearly state that I now have all rights to content submitted.
4. I pay her for the videos and we are all happy.

Here is an attached pdf of the form I want to use for all this: http://mybootyshaking.com/2257_model_release.pdf

You need two documents:

1. Signed model release. Look for one that suits you, and if necessary pass it by an industry lawyer. There are some additional issues you should consider for adult. You should also include wording related to work-for-hire as opposed to being an employee, for benefits and tax reasons. You should also spell out your liability limitations, and that the performer carries his/her own insurance.

2. 2257 paperwork. This includes ONLY that information required for 2257 documentation, which is basically the model's name, DOB, and any stage names, aliases, and former names (maiden names) used by the model.

Back up the 2257 paperwork with a photocopy of their license. Because you are not personally inspecting the ID you may want to ask for two forms of picture ID.

It sounds like you may be acting as a secondary producer. As Pornlaw sez elsewhere in this thread, primary and secondary producers are fairly lumped together now, but there is always a chance the laws could change, making documentation requirements easier for secondary producers. I suggest you talk with an industry lawyer at some point regarding this. Could help you down the road.
