Hi,

I was just wondering if there were any users of the software from adultsitecms.com and what they thought of it. I currently use awiz for my CMS and in the words of kevinG ... "It doesn't suck."

I am going to be asking the owner of the software a few questions on features. If anyone wants to add any questions to the list, please feel free to do so and I will add them to my list and try to get the answers to you in a timely fashion:

1) Awiz has a "anti-hack" database, was wondering if adultsitecms had one.
2) Awiz has a "password sharing" default page - meaning if multiple people log on using the same username and password from different IP addresses, it won't allow them to log on and forwards them to a webpage (mine states that the person was sharing the password which is a violation of the membership terms).
3) Awiz has content that goes dormant after "x" months and can come back after "x" months. This is a very important feature as it allows the content to remain looking fresh. Currently, I have many of my sets go active for 6 months and then go off for 6 months. If I put a set up everyday for 3 years, then after 3 years the set will have 3 new sets going up everyday!
4) Awiz has the ability to add rolling ad banners - to advertise other sites. I like this feature as I can in my members area advertise either my other sites or sites that are pertinent to my site (for example, my site is an art - nude retro site. I may promote art sites such as met-art or promote my future sites (ladiesonfilm, xonfilm, fetishonfilm, etc)

So far those are the questions that I have concerning the software, if there are any other questions that any of you may have, please let me know so I can ask them. I plan on presenting my questions to adultsitecms next week.

Thank you,

Al Cheech!

I don't have any members sites, so don't know either product enough to really comment. From having dealt with MANY CMS systems over the years in various areas, I really have one general statement.

No CMS is a perfect fit unless you custom build the thing, and you'll still be tweaking it for years... What you end up usually doing is finding the one that is the "best" fit for your business model. Usually, that will be a 70-80% fit for a "good" fit. If you're below 70%, it's usually something that's going to frustrate you for a LONG time, so don't go there unless you have ZERO other options.

For the other 20-30%, you have two possible options. 1) Customize your business model to the product - sucks, but is sometimes necessary... 2) Customize the product to your most critical needs that are left unmet.

Customizing the product may not be possible or reasonable in the end. It may not be open source code to make it possible. You may not have the programming skills. You may not want to pay a programmer to do it for you. If you can't customize it, then you're back to altering your businss model to your CMS, which sucks... but can be a reality...

I wasn't trying to get answers to my questions, I was trying to get more questions to ask Adultsitecms. Another question. Can it include a specific pictures for the updates tour page like with this page:

Pinups On Film

so I can show the latest updates in my tour pages and when they popup the picture, it can immediately go to the join page or close the popup.

I think what you're coming up with is a great list. If nothing else, they may become suggestions for new features when you're talking with them.

I totally agree. In looking at their demo, I believe that at least have the last feature (where you can put the latest updates).

Before I put a plug for my banners and affiliate program. Can both you S4ever and Tigger take a look at my affiliate layout here:

PinupsOnFilm

Just click the appropriate links to see the banners, sign-up etc.

I put up the sign up code with CCBill along with some banners. I plan on doing some FHG's soon as well.

TIA

Hey Al - looks like a good start on the affiliate program. Only pages I saw were the TOS and banner pages. For the banners, it's best to have a bit larger selection and more standard sizes. Most sites already have space reserved for banners of specific sizes based on "standard sizes". Not that there are truly standards, but there are several "normal" sizes.

468x60
468x80
468x90
Usually there will be a couple at 468x60 and then pick either 80 or 90 for another wide banner.

120x60
125x125 - although I find that anything in a nice square can be resized easily without distortion, so even 150x150 or 300x300 generally works well.

A lot of sites are looking for sky scrapers these days, so like 120x400 or 120x600.

Always keep an eye on the weight of the banners. The smaller banners you have are about 25Kb, which is a nice size. The larger ones are about 125Kb, which is getting a bit heavy for a single image.

looks good and I agree with brent on the banners and I would say 120x60 and 120x240 are a must

I would also offer examples of the content you offer webmasters, it doesn't have to be full sets but some idea about what you will offer them to push the site, after all whilst banners are useful tool we know its images that will get the conversions, so if I was considering joining the first thing I would want to know is how much content I will have to play with

good luck with your site

Regarding the "heavy weighted" jpgs, I accidently loaded 4 of the pre-compressed images...now they are the correct images (using advanced jpeg compressor) I will work on your other suggestions this week. I am hoping to have some FHG's as well as the banner sizes you recommend.

I did the 400x400 for radioentata per her request for non-nude banners.

Sizes to do are:

468x60
468x80
468x90

120x60 - a must
120x240 - a must

120x400
120x600

Thank you for your suggestions.

I had this designed for me a while back for my FHG's (it is just a screen capture...I will give the live one as soon as I can)

I know you are supposed to do FHG by model, but in some cases I do not have even 16 pictures of a specific girl as my material is between 30 and 50 years old and there just isn't the material available.

Please let me know what you think of the design.

Thank you,

the FHG layout looks really good to me, fits with the rest of what you are doing. The FHGs are exactly what Tiggs is referring to, so when you get those together, they will be critical to your webmaster program.

I think your site breaks enough rules already that trying to have an FHG per model is not truly necessary. Nice if you can do it for some, but not critical. Other erotica sites like Met-Art don't always do that and they do just fine. You're in a specialized area and will likely get to set a lot of your own rules because of it. Only problem with that is... you'll need to figure out what works for your specific content. What works for others, may not work as well for you.

Hey Al,

Just an FYI, there is NO SUCH THING as Antihack. If I want in bad enough, Bactrack 4.0 is out now and i have a copy. You DO want strong passwords enabled though. They'll makedictionary attacks more difficult.

Welcome to AF247!

agree with Brent they look good - but I also mean about offering webmasters zipped photo sets so they can use images on there site - after all FHG's are fine but they won't generate traffic its text that will do that and for a webmaster to post content onto his site he'll also need some images to use as well

Can they use the images from the FHG's? I was planning on making around 10 FHG's where there is around 160 (900px by 900px) images of which to use on their website... or do the affiliates need different images? How many should be included in the zipfile?

TIA

yes webmasters can use the images from the FHG's - sorry I'm more vod / contacts than porn

but I've seen in the past sites offering both FHG's & zipped content - as for how much, enough to make a good page and not too much to stop someone wanting to click for more, but I suppose thats down the to webmaster to make sure he sells the join link
