I'm just starting to work on a new design and have the basic template in place, but I'm finding my designs and sites I prefer are more minimal in look and not these high end graphic cluttered sites -

What do you prefer something thats all graphics or a more stripped back basic looking site? and the next thing, what converts better?

Didn't you listen to S4E's lecture on web-design? Or did you sleep through that?...lol,

I think at this point it varies, and doesn't make a whole lot of difference with the exception of those annoying flash sites deigned on Mac that give you the waiting wheel...

I opted for a simple but lavish design for my new site, I wanted the traditional looking tour and a bit of gloss, I think I got that. Site vary, in recent times I have been seeing mostly picture posts with a flash video attached, one scene after the other. Mostly cookie cutter type of sites, I've seen a lot of that over the last couple of years, good because you see the updates and the vid sample. In my opinion those site don't convert well, I'm not certain they engage the surfers trust.

Other styles which I have noticed are blog looking, I think many adopted that style due to the increase of blogs popularity, some are okay but I don't think they scream "buy your porn here".

Now, the top selling tranny porn network I promote uses a brilliant designer, the site they are cranking out are all extremely high quality and rich in graphic texture and functionality. I haven't seen anything thus far that tops their quality, I don't know who their designer is, but it's safe to say they are successful largely due to their elegant presentation...

So basically I'd have to say in this current state of websites, the thinking is to establish consumer confidence within' whatever design format you choose...

good point and I think the problem is too many designers "think" they can produce these high end graphic sites but in realty most just offer up something that makes the surfer want to leave

perhaps thats my reasoning behind minimal designs as I know I'm not great at graphics so prefer to use them little

I enjoy designing and particularly the graphic end, that was essentially my impetus towards building websites, and of course taking naked pics of trannies. If I had the luxury of picking one facet of the biz, I would probably stick with design, unfortunately being a one man operation I'm spread far to thin to concentrate on one thing.

I think the art of design in adult has gotten a little skewed over the last several years, I'm not seeing a plethora of overly skilled designers, seems to be the same guys cranking out for specific companies. Keep in mind also that it's the back end of the web-page, as you well know, that needs special care, the optimization and SEO criteria far outweigh anything grand in the way of graphics.

But I"m with you on the minimalist principle, I've always been a fan of less is more, something scant and subtle can have just as great an impact as something grandiose and visually active. Remember, it was the notes that Miles Davis didn't play that impacted his popularity...
