I am trying to do SEO for this site, adultnotes.com but as Tigger pointed out it is an uphill battle. (What did you mean, Tigger, about the same descriptions with no explanation, did you mean the listings themselves?)

I have been working mainly on the blog hoping to push the site up the high Google hill.

All the input you can offer will be greatly appreciated. I know a little about SEO but this is my first adult site and it's a booger bear!

first a couple of threads that will get you started

Basics of Adult SEO

Adult Content Links

I would recommend reading them both as they have some good tips for anyone starting out in SEO & adult marketing

When I said you have a problem with your titles & descriptions these are the meta titles & descriptions and from a SEO viewpoint extremely important as the SE's put a lot of weight behind the title - they need to be unique and describe what the page is about and you have the same title on every page! thats a massive mistake and something that will cause SE's to take one look at your site and walk away

The description is your chance to get across to punters why they want to click on your site and whilst they hold no SEO benefit its the text that is used on the serps and you have none!

To make things worse your pages have no content and in a nutshell is nothing other than a mass of links although due to the site not having many listings most of those bounce to the same affiliate

What you need to ask yourself is why the SE's don't list directories & old adult SE's anymore and the reason for this is lack of content and effectively all your site is is a SE with no content. You have a got a massive challenge getting that raking and one I would probably walk away from not unless they were going to spend a lot of cash to SEO that properly

We could discuss soft articles and gaining quality content links but TBH the last thing you need right now is SE traffic as that site needs a lot of work

Good luck you will need it

Thanks, Tigger. That's what I was afraid of. I should have delved more deeply into the site before I committed to doing the SEO.

I have read the threads you suggested and really took a lot away from them, stuff I will be able to use no matter what.

I am going to have to have a talk with the owner about this. Thanks again for your advice.

no probs hun - my advice tell them to set up sites to feed traffic rather than trying with that site as its never going to happen, just make sure that the sites are built SEO friendly rather than what they currently have

Not sure what you mean. Are you saying set up sites to drive traffic to THAT site and SEO the other sites and forget about trying to get that site to the top of Google? That's what my mind has been telling me to do. It seems as if it would be more expensive and time consuming to get adult notes SEO friendly than to just drive traffic, as you said. I know for sure I can rank the blog on the first page of Google, for instance.

yes forget that site and build smaller ones to feed it - but set the links as nofollow otherwise it will pick up a penalty and although the chances of ranking are poor you don't want to kill it completely

Do you mean set all of the outgoing links on adultnotes to no follow? Wow, that's a job.

Ok, but I have already sent a bunch of links to it from blog comments and social media sites. I also have the link in my sig here and at Digital Point.

I am sending the link to this discussion to the owner of the site.

a few is fine - but the consideration is if your going to start building feeder sites you could be looking at 10,20 100 odd sites and if each feeder site has 10-20 pages thats a lot of links coming from sites you control and more than enough to make the site pick up a penalty
