One mans spam is another mans treasure. As long as you're not stealing content and posting it on yet another illegal tube site I got no problem with what David is doing.

As you for you Mr Tiggs, SEO is not dead but let me give you a hypothetical situation. Say tomorrow the catholic church buys google and demands all porn sites be stricken from their algorithms. Far fetched I know but bare with me. If all your traffic and revenue depends on your google rankings you're screwed.

Getting traffic is about more then just kissing googles ass. There are so many ways to get traffic. Tumblr, facebook, twitter or any of the other thousands upon thousand of social media sites. It would be foolish to depend on google SOLELY as your main traffic source. Everytime a new baby panda pops up you'll be shitting bricks hoping your sites don't drop off the face of the googlesphere.

Now lets all eat popcorn and be merry or bananas if you prefer

Lets be honest LL we can look at lots of different hypothetical situations - but we need to look at whats happening NOW and as for looking at other traffic sources I've looked at the SM type and whilst still working on it I don't see how it will benefit the adult industry and TBH I struggle to see how these SM sites will help any site - SM is about branding

And I do have to play to G - it sends 95% of my traffic and is the only SE used in the UK so YES I have to play to there rules and guides ......you as a US webmaster do have a choice

Facebook is my #2 source of traffic on a lot of sites and in most cases beats Bing and Yahoo

Haven't tried anything with Twitter or Google+ but will do soon.

My main concern is putting my eggs in one basket. I know google is your only search engine over there but you should at least have some contingency plan in case the worst case scenario pans out. Search engines are too fickle to depend your livelihood on. Personally I do prefer creating a brand that people know and can come back to. A strong brand can be worth more then the site itself. Look at Playboy and Hustler.

I agree - which is why I work across a large network of sites and don't rely on a single site for my income. I've been doing affiliate marketing for 15 years and have experienced dropped sites and vanishing incomes before and thats something I'm not going to let happen again

I'm trying to reduce the % of Google traffic I rely on to only 25%. You should get 75% of your traffic other than G.

maybe you should fly to the UK and tell the idiot brits that there is a life outside G then

Its quite interesting but on Bing for a single word I'm first and that pulls in less than 1% of my traffic (in other words stat counter doesn't even register traffic flow) - the same term on G that I'm 9th for pulls 15% of my traffic for that site - crazy. If I was first on G it would pull 60/70% of the traffic to the site

agree its extremely frustrating the control G has over UK traffic you either rank or fail END off

I've just posted my final report for my 90 Day Challenge blog (or FHLOG ). As i say in the report this challenge was more about having a structured way of showing the strategies i use to build my micro-niche blogs and i think i was reasonably successful in doing that, i would have liked to write a lot more but time got in the way so it is what it is
