If anyone's interested i'm starting a 90 day challenge on my blog to detail how i build my micro-niche porn blogs.

I'll be building a new micro-niche blog from scratch with the goal of making it to #1 in Google within 90 days and i'll be revealing exactly how i research and select a potentially profitable keyword, how i setup and structure the site, how i'm able to rank quickly in Google, and finally (and hopefully) how i begin to make money from it.

You can read more about the challenge and follow the progress at my blog.

That's actually what I'm doing now with my latest site. Forget about hitting the #1 spot for the main niche keyword however. Age, lots of content and links over time is something you just can't duplicate with a new site.

That will take you at least a year. Sure you can get ranked #1 for long tail keywords within that niche, but there is no niche so small that you will get to #1 for the main word.

I have one I started two months ago and I rank #5 on the first page for the main keyword. But I will never move up any higher for at least 6 months. Just being on the first page is great however. Good luck.

Agree Bill - but he did say micro niche so I suppose it depends on what his definition of a mirco niche is

Well that is true. If you narrow it way down you can rank for all kinds of keywords, but is it worth it? This is actually the same thing top mainstream masters do. They drill way down to a narrow niche within a niche.

Then they buy the exact match domain name and can rank high within two months. I've got a few like that and intend to make a 100 of them.

exactly, its piss easy to rank for a term know one searches for, or the content you can use is limited .

I could build a site and get it ranking inside 90 days, in fact you wouldn't need that long and if it was 30 days and a good term then it would be worthwhile,

I guess it depends on how you define worth it, too, which is going to vary between individuals. Folks making big money may not be all that interested in picking up a few extra $, whereas those looking to build some extra income, maybe as a sideline, probably wouldn't turn it down.

My first adult site targeted a fairly popular niche that had several galleries and some other sections. It was a bit of a confused site, too big to be a standard freesite, too small to be any kind of authority in its niche, and most of it never made much money. But one section targeted a pretty specific "micro niche" within the overall subject, and, after it listed for its keyword, it routinely brought in about $100 per month from a set of three or four pages that I never touched again once I'd built and uploaded them.

Not a huge sum, by any means, but to me it was worth it

Should be interesting to see how the OP's experiment works out!

its really not rocket science, you target a niche that generates enough traffic to make it hit a return even as low as $100 then repeat - months down the line and you have 100 sites and 10k income .......easy especially if you have blogs as lets face it anyone can bang a blog up in a day

I do have kind of my own definition of micro-niche, you can read what that is here. Either way though i definitely won't be targeting something that no-one searches for but it'll definitely be something i think i can make it to #1 in that time. However this challenge is more about the journey than the destination and showing people how i do things, in particular new adult affiliates. And also as i wrote in the intro making a record for myself of all the things i've learned.

Exactly, and this is what i've been doing. I now have around 60 of these "micro-niche" sites and i last month i made $400 from 7 hours of work. It's definitely an attractive way to work as opposed to as you say waiting a year and putting in loads of hours just to get on the first page.

I think i've made my strategy pretty clear if you actually read the article and other articles on my site. I'm not building sites for terms no-one searches for, rather i research and find terms that still have some reasonable traffic - 50-500 searches a day, and that i think i can rank #1 for within 90 days.

Exactly, i'm not doing this full time, it's just to make some extra income on the side. As i say in the post on average i might spend 2 hours on a site, plus $9 for the domain. If that makes me $100 a year i'll be happy, multiply by 100-200 sites and i've made some decent cash.

Its not a case of sides, I'm just stating a fact that targeting a micro term is easy especially looking at the traffic figures your looking at

it would be a lot easer if you posted this on the forum - I know your trying to drive traffic to your site but if you want a serious discussion about your attempts I've got no interest in going backwards and forwards to your site

Ok, part 3 is up, you can check it out here.

This is just a basic post showing how to setup a wordpress blog so if you already have sites up you can probably skip this one.

However I do talk about the plugins i use and give a small status update on my challenge site so just skip to the bottom if you want to check that out.

Next week will get a bit deeper when i talk about why i structure my blogs differently than most other porn blogs.

Cheers.
