Why do adult webmasters still go after domains and make pages with the words "free porn" in them? If you go after guys looking for free porn you end up with,,,,,,,, guys who want to see porn for free, DUH!!

That does NOT make you money. If I sold clocks, would it make sense to make a site called free clocks? I would get tons of traffic, but only from people wanting a free clock. They would not buy one, so I'd be wasting my bandwidth with worthless traffic.

I use "free" within the contacts market quite a lot in fact my biggest free related terms are free stories across all the genres such as tranny, dogging, swingers, cuckold & bbw - in fact I've just put a free tranny story site up and thats converting free traffic into paid members

Whilst I can see where your coming from the idea behind offering something for free is in the hope that it will convert to paid traffic - with porn that works well, after all look at the tubes that give sensible clips in the hope that the guy will click for more

Well to each his own. I use stuff like "free tour" and so on. But free porn just begs to have your site overrun with non paying freeloaders. Tubes have horrible conversions and it's all because most go there to see free porn.

That is mainly true with the younger guys, college kids. That's why I stick with fetish type of sites. I think it takes time to develop a passion for a specific fetish; many older men have them. They are more willing and even expect to pay for what they want.

All the babes and teens stuff is all about the young horny guys and they all want it for free,,,, and get it.

You can blame the internet itself for that one. The culture of the internet was built on this model of freebees from free web browsers and operating systems like Unix, to the open source software that runs the internet itself like Apache and php. Unfortunately those ideas have now moved into porn too. Now It's considered a sin to have to pay for anything. It's pretty sickening.

And also because of it's low costs and ease of access any idiot with an idea can start a web "business" and saturate the market with their free crap because they think that's good business. You have only to look at the millions of tube sites that never make any money to see what im talking about.

If these fools opened up real stores in the real world and started giving away their crap for free they would lose huge amounts of real money and end up broke. With the internet you literally have nothing to lose. So these people keep giving away their crap for free and saturating the market at little or no cost. If you wanna make money you gotta have truly unique content and protect the hell out of it to make sure it doesn't end up on the tubes.

agree, if start ups were more expensive people would think twice about it, but its not so everyone and anyone can throw these sites up that only last till the renewal then get dropped - but during that time they've taken sales away from guys that are really trying to make a living

Hence the reason the industry is shrinking as quality webmasters are leaving and being replaced by free loaders that don't have a clue and won't last a couple of years because they think its a case of throwing a tube up and watching the cash roll in
