Sounds like a lot of BS. I mean think about it, what is a content scraper but someone who takes your content and uses it on their blog/site. In other words a CONTENT THEIF. COPYRIGHT STEALER.

so how does improving my content not also directly benefit the content scrapers?

The issue is those CROOKS, and Google should concentrate on that and find a way to determine who is the originating site.

and nah, wouldn't wake up his nibs. he's crouchy when he's had his red time interrupted.

my 2 cents

I agree Ian

What G needs to be doing is addressing who really owns the content - that will not only address content theft but also thousands of spammy sites that G has within its serps

On a couple of my larger sites I use G's site map tool to help with crawling and within that they could offer some type of "ownership verification" tool so they know when a webmaster submits a new site map held within that data would be some type of content stamp to say it originally came from my site so all other copies are to be removed / ignored

With the resources G has if some effort was placed into this problem they would see webmasters spending more time on writing better quality content

Seems like hot air to me, I don't believe G really cares who owns the content, just another means of putting you in a trick bag
