I actually talked to a guy who has did this for years. It seems as though Google hates affiliates using it. Basically you can only use adwords to send hits to your own paysites, a white label site or a full site with worthwhile content.

Sending them to a tour page just to push them to a sponsor will get you banned fast apparently. Makes sense, if you tried that with mainstream the same thing would happen. So I'm going to try black label ads from adbrite instead.

Got my first one pending review right now so I'll see how it goes.

Interesting Bill. I know of many affiliates only, that use adwords quite a lot, and while it is a fine line to walk, regarding the words, they aren't paysite owners.

Yes Google bans many accounts, but then hey, they also have many pirate sites and link farms still ranking in the top ten. It is a house gone mad, but I think the idea of testing it out, for $50 was worth the shot.

I don't buy the argument that Google oppose affilaites, or hates them, or automatically bans them. They'd lose too much revenue if that was true. There are more affiliates than owners out there, and they use Adwords more than the Owners.

Well I suppose if I'm using a "throw away" adwords account it's worth it to try it. If the account gets banned it will not mean a damn to me and I'll use a pre-paid card. So maybe I'll still try it.

My black label ads just started running so I will see what happens. I got full page ads, not banners or text ads. So I may also try the banner and text ads to see if they convert. The full page ads to me are a bit "in your face" as they just pop up as your browse a site.

I would be concerned about using black label ads and the quality of the traffic they send - can you stipulate the types of sites where your ads appear Bill ? ie just tranny ? location ?

Yeah my thoughts also. You can pick what keywords your ad shows up for. But that's just it with them, your ad is only going to show up on sites that have agreed to show those ads. So your stuck with whoever allows those ads.

Since I'm targeted a narrow niche it will be worthless if no sites in that niche are showing my ads, and they don't let you see a list or anything of who shows your ads. I think it's best for general babes, teens and dating sites, not niche stuff.

I see my ads have been running a day and I only have had like 70 impressions. So I think for targeting a niche it's a waste of time.

I thought that would be the case with black label - problem is the tools & features G adwords offer spoils us and makes all the other traffic sites look crap, which more often than not are. Lets just hope your G ad slips in ok
