Well, I thought I'd grab a .xxx, throw up a few sponsor pics and some flash animations - no need for any descriptive text, the punters only want to see pics anyway - make number one on Google by next week and retire by Vallentine's
Seriously, much the same as I'm doing now, only more of it, I hope - putting up more small niche sites, both mainstream and adult, and letting them grow over time. Some that I did a few months ago are starting to get some organic traffic, and I expect that trend to continue - at least, I hope so! More conversions would be nice, though, so I'll probably be looking at the way I structure blog posts to see if I can encourage that.
I'll also be looking at adding a mix of sponsors to my webcam blogs, maybe some contacts other than AFF (any suggestions welcome!). In a slightly different direction, I'm kicking around the idea of writing stuff for publication via Kindle. No idea how that might work out yet, but I have this vague notion of building niche sites to bring interested readers / buyers, and maybe cross-promote other related products.
Another thing that really needs thinking about is mobile friendly versions of sites, though I haven't really gone into that in any depth at all yet. And, on a related but even less thought through note, the possibility of mobile apps to drive traffic, either directly to sponsors or to my sites. I could see how such a thing, if tightly coupled to a niche, might be fairly effective, and things like JQuery Mobile and Phonegap look like they might ease the pain of re-writing the thing for every phone under the sun. Then again, I'm no javascript expert, and the time required to get up to speed might be prohibitive.
Overall, I'm fairly optimistic about the coming year, despite the state of the economy on this side of the pond. It's just a matter of sorting out priorities, and where best to spend the time. Niches definitely make a lot of sense to me, and quite a bit of time is going to have to go into finding them, I expect. Other than that, chaos as usual
