Yeah I hate when a company gets too big for its own good, which I think is happening to google. They are getting in that too big to fail category and thats never a good thing. They just have too much power over the internet and what we as webmasters do and that's very dangerous.

yep its only for logged in users, but most of the people I know use Google that way.........twats and the idiots don't realise G is feeding them personalised results but I think this personalised results shit could be G's downfall as people start to realise they are seeing the same sites over and over again

Surely G would have thought of that? Wouldn't they? Something like, if we keep showing this result and the bugger doesn't click, don't show it again...? Then again, what if they DO click once or twice? Must be their fave site, so we'll show it over and over... all sounds like a complicated way of pissing off just about everyone!

Speaking of logged in users, are you seeing any evidence of missing referer data yet? I have one small site that doesn't see much traffic at all, only there for historical reasons, really, which is suddenly seeing almost all of its visitors showing no referer. That's annoying, since it's also showing a small spike in traffic and I have no idea where from or why. In this case it's just curiosity, but it would be a pain for a more useful site.

I suppose this is the reason they offered logged in users the verbatim link and I bet 99% of users never see it or use it ...but surfers will start getting pissed off with personal search when they keep seeing the same old sites, after all Amazon doesn't offer EVERYTHING ....nearly but not quite, but you wouldn't think so accounting to G and if you clicked a Amazon result thats all the logged in user will ever see idiots

I think its next to impossible to monitor this, the serps are far from stable anymore so seeing this yo yo traffic is something you expect now problem is we don't know if this is down to logged in traffic being blocked or not .....talk about keeping webmasters in the dark
